چکیده

Nowadays, distribution utilities expend large investments on Distributed System Automation (DSA) based smart secondary substations at load, capacitor, and distributed generator points with installed automatic sectionalizing switches their branches. This article addresses the optimal control operation of systems that minimize wasted energy introducing quantitative qualitative power services to meet consumers' satisfaction. Simultaneous allocations Generators (DGs) Capacitor Banks (CBs) are handled peak loading condition. Then, DSA is optimally activated for Distribution Network Reconfiguration (DNR), DGs commitment, CBs switching losses minimization in coordination different conditions. Practical daily load variation applied simulate dynamic automated systems. For achieving these targets, Manta Ray Foraging Optimization Algorithm (MRFOA) adopted. MRFOA an effective simple structure optimizer emulates three various individual manta rays foraging organizations. The capability IEEE 33-bus, 69-bus practical network 84-bus due Taiwan Power Company (TPC). A comparison recent techniques has been conducted prove effectiveness MRFOA. accomplished results demonstrate proposed great robustness among other optimization techniques.

Multi-objective Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm based Reconfiguration of Distribution Networks

Network reconfiguration is a nonlinear optimization procedure which calculates a radial structure to optimize the power losses and improve the network reliability index while meeting practical constraints. In this paper, a multi-objective framework is proposed for optimal network reconfiguration with the objective functions of minimization of power losses and improvement of reliability index. T...

A Bi-Level Optimization Approach for Optimal Operation of Distribution Networks with Retailers and Micro-grids

Distributed energy resources (DERs) including distributed generators (DGs) and controllable loads (CLs) are managed in the form of several microgrids (MGs) in active distributions networks (ADNs) to meet the demand locally. On the other hand, some loads of distribution networks (DNs) can be supplied by retailers which participate in wholesale energy markets. Therefore, there are several decisio...

Optimal operation of multiple microgrids under network reliability based on asexual reproduction algorithm

Today, the number of micro-distribution networks is increasing. Meanwhile, for various reasons that can be justified in the field of smart grids and electricity market, the optimal operation of these microgrids is of great importance. On the other hand, the existence of high-intensity accidents has been the reason for the creation of micro-networks in many countries, which shows the importance ...

Optimal Distributed Generation (DG) Allocation in Distribution Networks using an Improved Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Algorithm

Abstract: The development of distributed generation (DGs) units in recent years have created challenges in the operation of power grids, especially distribution networks. One of these issues is the optimal allocation (location and capacity) of these units in distribution networks. In this thesis, a method based on the improved ant colony optimization algorithm is presented to solve the problem ...
